The Sullivan Chamber & Economic Development has been working with the city to ensure that Sullivan is a great place to live, work and play.
The SCED has an active retention and expansion program to support all businesses in their endeavors to succeed and grow. New businesses are always welcome and should call 217-728-2684 for information on available properties, new business resources and incentive information.
The SCED Chamber Committee is working on a variety of promotions, events and training opportunities for our members.
The Renovation and Enhancement Committee (REC) continues to support the city as construction for our IDOT Streetscape Enhancement program that began in the spring of 2009.
Several downtown properties have been renovated due to TIF money that the City allocated for facade improvements through the Historic Downtown Facade program.
The city has also appointed a Parking Task Force to evaluate parking in the downtown. Current plans are underway to upgrade the city's three municipal parking lots to increase the number of parking spaces, make the lots cleaner and safer and introduce green space into the downtown.
